Visiting Back Paddock Botanical

Experience the charm and beauty of Back Paddock Botanical all year round. Here's some helpful information to plan your visit.

We established our lavender farm in 2023, meaning most of our plants are now one year old, however we did have to replant a percentage of them due to a number of factors including seasonal anomalies, irrigation issues and our inexperience in the lavender space.

Whilst beautiful at any stage of growth, our lavender plants will not reach their full flowering potential until November 2025.

  • Spring (September - October - November)

Spring is a vibrant period of tourism in the Toowoomba Region, especially with the Carnival of Flowers in full swing. It’s the perfect season to enjoy a relaxing lavender experience at Back Paddock Botanical as the sun starts warming up. During this time, the first blooms of lavender begin to make an appearance, adding a touch of purple to our lush green fields.

  • Summer (December - January - February)

Summer is the season that everyone’s been waiting for at Back Paddock Botanical. The enchanting purple haze of the lavender fields is in full display, especially from November through to January. Our lavender thrives under the sunny skies, and you won’t want to miss the breathtaking views and the rich fragrances that fill the air during these warmer months. The lavender rows are particularly beautiful to wander through at this time. Take a walk through the paddocks and discover new plants as the fresh herbs release their mouth-watering aromas.

  • Autumn (March - April - May)

The magic of summer carries into the beginning of autumn, allowing visitors to enjoy the last of the lavender blooms for a few more weeks before the colder weather sets in. As autumn progresses, the leaves on our newly planted trees will begin to change colour and we are looking forward to the time when their fully grown display will paint the farm in a stunning array of reds, oranges, and yellows.

  • Winter (June - July - August)

By the time winter arrives, the blooming fields of lavender have gone dormant until the frosty weather passes. Though there aren’t any flowers to see during this season, visitors still find joy in exploring Back Paddock Botanical and appreciating its serene, resting, beauty. The crisp air and quiet landscape offer a unique and peaceful farm experience.
