Whether you're planning a proposal, an elopement, an intimate wedding or a quiet anniversary, Back Paddock Botanical offers a unique backdrop to celebrate the moment.
Our west-facing lavender fields glow at sunset. Our timber pergola, draped with fairy lights, makes a beautiful backdrop for vows or a champagne clink.
It's a choose-your-own-adventure kind of venue: we simply provide the place, and you create the moment.
What to expect
This is a working lavender farm, not a wedding venue with manicured lawns and bridal suites. We don’t have built facilities or staff. Instead, what we offer is something rarer: space, privacy and a breathtaking setting you can make your own.
All bookings are strictly BYO. That means you’ll organise your own celebrant, catering, styling, portable amenities and any other requirements. We keep things simple, flexible and grounded, just like our farm.
Our venue hire options
Elopements
$450 weekday / $500 weekend
A low-key option for couples wanting a short, sweet celebration.
- 2 hours access to the lavender field and pergola area.
- Up to 10 guests (plus your celebrant, photographer, florist).
- Includes set-up and pack-down of 10 chairs and the bare timber signing table.

Intimate Weddings
$1200 weekday / $1500 weekend
For couples after something relaxed, but a little more structured.
- Exclusive venue access from 12pm to 6pm.
- Up to 20 guests, plus your team of service professionals.
- Set-up and pack-down of 10 chairs, timber hay bale bench seats, and a signing table.
- Private venue hire.
If your dream day includes a few more guests or extra time, we'll provide a custom quote to account for the extra time or guests. Book a venue tour to chat about your dream day.
Full Wedding Hire
$2500 venue hire.
Host a celebration with up to 120 people, entirely your way.
- Private hire of the venue, for the wedding of your dreams.
- 48hr venue hire anytime from Thursday to Monday - no overnight stays. This means you can bump in from 12pm Thursday, get married on Friday, and be packed up by Saturday at 12pm. Likewise, you can do this on a Friday for a Saturday wedding.
- Additional guests can be approved, however the hire charge will change.
You’ll need to organise:
- Catering.
- Marquee hire.
- Tables, chairs, decor.
- Portable toilets.
- Power is available around the outside of the shed. If you'd prefer vendors set-up elsewhere, they will need to be self-powered.
Add on experiences can be booked, such as distillation workshops or lavender picking. If you've got a few more guests for the celebration, we can work out a custom quote after you visit the venue.
Engagements, Anniversaries and Sunset Moments
$150 per booking (1 hour)
Perfect for popping the question or celebrating an anniversary in your own way.
- 1hr, booked just before sunset for the most magical light.
- Choose the pergola, a table among the lavender, or our velvet couch setup.
- BYO food, drinks and photographer.
- We can provide glasses and an ice bucket on request.
- You’ll be the only couple on-site for the duration of your booking.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can we have extra guests?
Yes. The prices for each package include what's listed, so if you have some extra guests we'll provide a custom quote after you inspect the venue. Additional guests do involve extra work for us, so they are always charged.

Can we bring our pets?
Couples are welcome to include their pets in the celebration. For biosecurity reasons, animals must stay out of the lavender and remain on-leash at all times. For weddings, we ask that guests don’t bring their pets.
Is there power or shelter available?
Power is available on the exterior of our shed. The shed is not a shelter for use by guests.
All service providers must be self-contained.
Are toilets available?
For larger weddings, you’ll need to arrange portable toilets. For elopements or private bookings, limited guest numbers and short hire durations usually do not require them. If in doubt, get in touch and we’ll let you know what you’ll need.
Can we have music?
Acoustic music and small PA systems are welcome for ceremonies. Please note noise restrictions apply from 10pm.
Can we style the pergola or bring our own furniture?
Yes. You’re welcome to style the space to suit your vision. Please make sure all items are removed after your hire period.
